Basecrete Coating

Preparation

Clean the wall(s) by removing any debris, rubble, dirt, etc.
Dampen the area where the Basecrete will be applied. Ensure the area is moist but not soaked.

Mixing

Pour the liquid Basecrete into a mixing container first.
Add the dry mix on top of the liquid Basecrete.
Do not add water.
Strive for a "milkshake" consistency. If the mixture is too thick, add more liquid Basecrete.
The reference mixture is 1 gallon of liquid Basecrete per 50-pound dry mix bag (covers 40-50 square feet at 1/8” thick).

Mixing Process

Mix the liquid and dry mix until you achieve a milkshake-like consistency.
Let the mixture sit for 4 minutes.
Re-mix the mixture for 1 minute.

Application With a Trowel

Apply Basecrete 1/8” thick at a time using a trowel.

Application With a Sprayer

Apply Basecrete 1/16” thick at a time using a sprayer.

Application With a Roller

Apply Basecrete 1/16” thick at a time using a roller.
Make only two passes – one pass vertically and one pass horizontally.

Post-Application

If the customer wants to paint over the Basecrete, they will need to use a different product like epoxy.
The surface should not be painted until 4 weeks have passed.
Saturate the surface with water and neutralize with a 1:8 solution of muriatic acid.
Rinse with clean water after the neutralizing step is complete.
